LISETTE SPINNLER

Lisette Spinnler was born in 1976 and grew up in Wittinsburg, Switzerland. Today she lives in Liestal near Basel. From the age of ten she received lessons in piano before starting with voice lessons at the age of 17. Lisette studied with Sandy Patton and Susanne Abbuehl at the Music Academy Basel and received various awards such as a scholarship from the Fredl Wald Foundation (1999), the Chrysler Jazz award at the Montreux Jazz Festival (2001), a nomination for the final round of the ZKB finals in Zurich (2003), nomination for the Suisse Diagonales Jazz festival (2004), the Kantonalbank prize from the Anniversary Foundation of the Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank (2004) and the specialist prize Music des Kantons Baselland (2016). In 2005, she formed the quintet Siawaloma with Colin Vallon, Patrice Moret, Alex Hendiksen and Michi Stulz. In 2010, she started the duo-project Stiefel-Spinnler, singing, piano-inspired vocals and in 2014, she transformed Siawaloma into the Lisette Spinnler Quartet with Stefan Aeby, Patrice Moret and Michi Stulz. Lisette Spinnler is a lecturer for majors at the Music Academy, Jazz Campus Basel. Past concerts and concert tours inluded collaborations with the European Jazz Youth Orchestra, Cojazz, Braff-Oester-Rohrer. Theodosii Spassov, Domenic Landolf, Adrian Mears (Requiem op.48, der Berner Totentanz) Jorge Rossy, Banz Oester, Guest singer Manu Katché, Christoph Stiefel, Jean-Paul Brodbeck, Fabian Gisler, Guillermo Klein, Gregor Hilbe, Norbert Pfammatter, Tobias Backhaus and Henning Sieverts.
